Please pray!

A friend of mine needs prayer her name is Billie Pierson. Her boyfriend John, has cancer and it has spread to his liver. The doctors have told her that one of his disk in his spine has exploded due to the cancer. One wrong move and his spinal cord could be severed. Her daughter, a single mom of three, has brain tumors. They are waiting for the right time to do surgery. Billie has Glaucoma and is having trouble seeing. She was going to get it taken care of but with all this hitting her at once she had to put off her problems to take care of loved ones. Billie is a believer. She is putting all this in the hands of The Lord. God can work miracles, nothing is too big for our God. When we think we have troubles we can always look around and see others that are having more trouble than we are having. Please pray for these folks.

Our mother, Juanell Brooks was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer on December 22, 2010. She has elected to take no treatment. Please lift our mom and dad and family in prayer. Prayers Warriors Unite

Need major prayers for the Gomez family. Eric and Brie Gomez and their 2 girls were in a head on collision tonight (12/26/10) right outside Dalhart. The girls were said to be ok, info about Dad wasn't readily available, and Brie was being rushed to surgery with Severe Head Trauma. She is also 8 months pregnant. I will post more info as it is known, but please be in prayer for this family. I am not sure what she does, but he is a coach at Amarillo High School.

Prayer Warriors Unite!

My Brother-in-Law's Brother and his wife, Brandon and Jessica Fagan, were in a MAJOR car accident on Dec 21st. She broke her leg, hip, and wrist and he has at least 10 broken bones in his face. Since then, they have already re-constructed his eye socket and also learned that he broke his knee cap as well.
They are both expected to be in the hospital for at least a month for rehabilitation and surgeries. They have 3 Girls between the ages of 7-15.
There are deeper problems in this marriage on top of all this, they really need our prayers.

Jenny Everson asked that we lift Jimmy Everson's niece, Amanda Santos, up in special prayer. When she went to get a toothache checked, they discovered, after some significant test, that she has cancer of her tongue. Amanda is in her 40's w/ a son. She is a teacher and has been devastated by this news. The doctors can not operate, but did remove some of her teeth. Now she will be going through radiation followed by the chemo treatments. Please lift up Amanda and her family in your daily prayers.

Please pray for my sister-in-laws nephew, Adam Smith. He is 16 years old and had a stroke 2 days ago. He collapsed while on the football field. They airlifted him to Cooks childrens hospital in Ft Worth yesterday and he is progressively getting worse. The swelling on his brain has continued.They have told the family that if he makes it through the next 48 hours it will be a miracle. If he does then they will possibly do surgery and take out the swollen area of the brain to allow for healing. Please just pray for this whole family. Pray for no more swelling, damage, and deficit from the stroke.

Update on Robertson baby

I just got a phone call from a friend, Mrs. Juanita Robertson, asking that we prayer for her first Great Granddaughter. The baby was born this past Sunday, she was born one month early, and she has a blockage in her digestive system. They are running test now to determine where the blockage is, and then they will do surgery. Please pray for Kate Robertson, and the doctors, pray also for the parents so they can have assurance that God is wonderful, good, strong, and can heal this baby. Thanks.

Roxy Trick was born 2 1/2 months early on Sept. 15th. She is in Cook's Children hospital in Ft Worth. Her lungs are not developed enough for her to breath on her own. She is on a vent. Al was dismissed from Memorial Hospital Thursday afternoon.

He is much weaker than he was when dismissed from BSA in January of 2010 and not able to do as much to assist in his care.

He was in BSA from August 2-16 and Memorial Hospital for the balance of his stay until September 23 for a total of 53 days.

September 23 marked the one year anniversary date of the last time Al walked.

Dianna Cartwright will check into the hospital in Lubbock on Monday morning, September 27th to under go a multitude of test. She is on the list for a kidney transplant and these test must be done to see if she can withstand the transplant (when the time comes).

The doctor told Sue that Gene was improved so much that he would probably go home on Thursday or Friday. They think his cancer is in remission and his double pneumonia is almost cleared up. PTL

Gene Testerman is now in the Memorial Hospital with pneumonia once again. Sue has asked for prayer for Gene to have some comfort and relief. He also suffers with lung cancer. He is in room #129. Maverick Crawford, son of Ryan Crawford (New ESL DISD teacher at morningside) has Nuro Blastoma, a cancerous tumor on the adrenal glands. They will be doing surgery on him at 9:00 a.m. Monday at BSA. He is in the Pediatric ICU room #1. He is less than a month old. Ryan and family appreciate our prayers.

Please pray for Ronnie Cogdill. He was supposed to have heart surgery. Ronnie Cogdill did not have surgery last week, instead he will have surgery this coming Wednesday. They found out he only has one Kidney, where it went, no one knows. Don't know if he was born that way,or not. Ronnie is a Dumas boy living in Amarillo now, and he has an Aorta Aneurysm. His sister Vicki asked for prayer for Ronnie, and the Doctors doing the surgery. Please keep him in your prayers. Thanks and praise be to God our Father.

Please pray with me for Darryl and Lois Hayes, Lois fell last night trying to help Darryl get furniture back into the living room. She had no business trying to move furniture but you go tell her that. Lois has Lupus among other things. Darryl has had a heart transplant among other things. I pray that Lois will be ok, she is going to be sore in the morning. God can make it all ok. Our wonderful Father said He would do what we ask in Jesus name. Billy Etheredge has been having great difficulty with his health in the last year or two. Billy, Debbie and family need our prayers and support. He is on oxygen constantly, cannot work, been to numerous doctors, to Denver, etc. Billy is a diabetic but the problems he's having may or may not be related to that. He and Debbie and family have made numerous trips to E.R. etc. All of the family is in Amarillo and would appreciate prayers, cards. Andy is married to Shelley Hunt(formerly). So, except for Billy Bob's wife they have all lived and worshiped in Dumas for many years. Billy was a youth Bible teacher for a substantial time when Dan was here. Also a youth director and leader at Calvary and other churcher prior to that.Debbie I think played the organ and piano for most churches in Dumas, at least it seems so, and many outside of Moore County. Please lift them up to the Lord. Billy needs encouragement, hope, and maybe a miracle. But God's Resources are limitless. Let us remember these beautiful people as well as those other ones in our church family who face comparable difficulties. He only weighs a little over 10 lbs. and the doctors cannot figure out why he wouldn't gain any weight. They have been dealing with this ever since he was born and now the doctors are doing some sort of surgery to help with the problem. David went to his doctor in Lubbock today and didn't get such good news. He has been a severe asthma sufferer for his entire life, but it has just in the last 3 or so years gotten a lot worse. He and Matthew both see the same allergy doc in Lubbock who has been working on trying to get David better since December of 2008. Today, the doctor informed him that he has what is called Paradoxical Langospasm. Basically they don't know what causes the disease, but there isn’t' a cure and the medication to control is just kind of trial and error. Some people react to one thing and some to others. He is on 8 different medications currently to control the asthma and allergies, and the doctor added one more today saying that if it doesn't work, that he will just have to have breathing treatments every 4-6 hours, in-definitely, plus continue his current regiment of medications. There are a lot of things we need to change about our daily lives to help control this, but he is still sick, and the doctor says he won't really go away either . Please pray for healing from the ULTIMATE HEALER. We know he can do all things, we just need to ask. I ask that you please say that prayer for David as we try to make this less difficult on him. Thank you for your prayers for my wife, Juana James, Juana came through the surgery (right knee replacement) just fine. She is still in a lot of pain and discomfort of course, so I ask you to keep her in your prayers. She is supposed to get to come home towards the end of this week. Also, I have a friend, Phaedra Medlock who has heart problems. Phaedra is a veteran, she is waiting for a heart. I know that with prayer God can fix the heart she has. Praise God. Also, please remember me in your prayers, week before last I had a glimpse of life without back pain, the doctors put a stimulator in my spine and it was a test to see if it would work before the insurance company would approve it. It worked just fine, so when Juana gets back to driving again they will install it permanently so I want be in pain when I walk. Thank you in advance. To God be the Glory.

Callie Marshall, the daughter of Clayton and Shelly Marshall, grand daughter of Victor Marshall and niece of D'Anne Venable, needs our continued pray. She is 13 years old and a couple of weeks ago she was put in the hospital with Pancreatitis. She has since gotten to go home, but still needs our prayers. My best friend's brother in law is stationed in Afganistan and was in a bombing attack at Bagram Air Base in Afganistan. One was killed.They are asking for prayer for his safety and for the family. My friend just found out that her brother in-law is safe! Praise God!!! But we still must pray for those who's loved ones were injured or killed. God's peace can calm the most hurting heart. Prayer for Sandra Tebeest

Please continue praying for Sandra TeBeest, who is Buddy Trent's sister. She has Ovarian cancer. She had her first chemo treatment on Friday. She was so bad on Friday a.m. that the doctors weren't sure they could give her chemo, but after many of the family and friends praying, she improved so much that she was given chemo on Friday afternoon. Praise the Lord!
She is resting at home in Gruver. She feels much better, but she is having some pain and is very tired. She will need two more treatments before the drs. will perform surgery. Please continue praying for this sweet lady.

My cousin and his wife are expecting their 2nd child and she was just laid off of her job, and she is the one carrying the insurance. Also he was laid off last year, and has been staying home with their oldest boy, because of the cost of child care, it just seemed to make sense. But now they are both out of work, and he is very stressed and discouraged. He is a christian, but he isn't very active.

My friend in Arizona asked if we could place the unborn baby of a family in her church on our prayer chain. She is 22wks pregnant, his name is William, and the sonogram showed that he has spina bifida of the entire lumbar spine, part of the thoracic spine, and has swelling of the left lobe of his brain. The Dr.'s said that at 26wks, they could possibly do surgery, but the Dr.'s are not hopeful. They believe that God can heal their baby, and are asking for our prayers. Update on my uncle!

Please continue to pray for my uncle, Karl Vaughn. They thought he had pneumonia and they put him in the hospital to found out he had 2 blood clots. He is in so much pain with his back and now he is not going to be able to have the surgery he needs for his back for at least 6 months because he will be on blood thinner. Please pray for relief from the back pain and a miracle. He is very discouraged right now.

Update on Gerald

Gerald ( Benny) has been doing well after all his angiograms and 2 stints in his heart. Last month he had an angiogram on his legs and the arteries were 100% blocked. He is to go in the 8th of April to have bypasses done. He'll be in the hospital at least 5 days. I don't know how much down time there will be after he gets home. Then he should be all set to have his left knee replaced. Yea! After 5 years waiting!!
I am also going to be having some appointments in the next week. Please pray we get answers with my appointments and continue to pray for Gerald.

Pray for comfort for a family and community

A third grade teacher at Sunray, Kendra Sotelo, and her three children were in a car accident on their way home yesterday evening (March 30). Kendra and two of her children were killed. They live in Stinnett. The children's names are 2nd grader-Aliya. who was involved in the accident, but not doing well, and 4th graders- Audrey and Marcos. She has a husband and one son along with Aliya still living. Please pray for her family and the community of Sunray. They just buried a high school student a week ago. God has a plan even thoug its so hard to see it when young people lose their lives.

Pray for safety and peace!

Amanda Hendricks has asked prayers for safety for her and her fellow missionaries. They are missionaries in North Africa at orphanages and being removed from the country. Their concern is for their safety, plus the concerns for the children who have only known these missionaries as their parents all their lives. Amanda told her mother, Beverly Hendrick, that right now some of her co-workers have been removed and some like her are still at the orphanage w/ the children, but having to be very careful. They are being watched everywhere they go. Also, the Embassy is closed on the weekends, thus they can't reach anyone for help at that time. Please pray for their safety and protection while continuing to be ministering to these children. Pray for the children for the lose of the only family they know.

Please continue to pray for my wife, Juana James Recently we were at BSA where Juana was a patient for 8 days. We do not know anything now that we didn't know before she left the emergency room the first day. They just told us that her spleen was shrinking and she had a fatty liver. She is in so much pain, all the time. Please pray that the pain will stop and for healing. I know that our God can heal ANYTHING. Chris and I have a prayer request for a cousin of Clyde's, Linda Cotter who lives near Canyon. She is in BSA Intensive Care Unit with severe respiratory problems. She has been kept sedated for several days... yesterday was removed from some of the equipment to see how she does. The doctors plan for her to be in ICU for another 5 days. Update on Gerald!

(Benny) Gerald had his appointment with his kidney doctor. His creatin was 1.4; down from 1.6 last check up, which is good that it is down. Praise the Lord!! His doctor in San Antonio called and set up an Angiogram in his legs for Thursday morning first thing. We go down this Wednesday night March 3rd. Not sure if they will do both legs or just one. Please pray they don't have to do any major surgery (bypass) in his legs. If they just do stents or balloons he may get to have his left knee replaced finally! Thank you for the continued prayers.

Josh Payne, son of James and Tammy Payne, is in his second year of medical school in Forth Worth and will be going on a medical mission trip to Puebla, Mexico through the Christian Medical Association at UNT Health Science Center. The trip is March 13th through 20th. They will provide acute medical care to over 700 residents in the inner city and rural areas where there are no doctors. Please pray for the safety of those going and for the gospel to be received by those they are treating and coming in contact with while in Puebla.

Please pray for Sylvia. Last Wednesday she went to the emergency room here at Big Spring with a severe Asthma attack. During the testing she was admitting into the hopsital overnight. There was an abnormality in the EKG. The following Monday Sylvia had a nuclear stress test. She goes in Monday for the results, which are not good because the doctor called instead of sending a letter. Please keep her in your prayers.

Praise the Lord!!!

God continues to answer prayers for DeAnn's awesome and amazing improvements. She was transferred to Plum Creek Rehab Facility for physical therapy. She has a ways to improve, but maybe not, just know how much she has improved these last few days. I have been able to talk with her on the phone and I understand what she is saying. Please continue to prayer for and praise the Lord for what He has already done.

God is so awesome in all things! Today DeAnn Eslick's daughter, Kim, called to report that DeAnn is now awake with each of her stats amazingly showing improvements. She is able to make some verbal responses with difficultly, but she is responding and we are praising our Almighty Heavenly, Father the Great Physician.

Prayer for our armed forces

Please pray for our armed forces and all the challenges they face. Campus Crusade has their book More Than a Carpenter as well as other books over in Iraq that they are giving out. Campus Crusade has received thousands of calls a day asking for more Bibles, asking how to start churches and asking scriptural questions. The Iraqi government does not like this and moves in once the armed forces leave and capture the newly ordained pastors. Please pray that the Word of God continues to change lives.

As some of you may already know, John Haltom was back in the hostipal last week with a spinal fluid leak and he was in tremendous pain. They have repaired the leak and he is now doing much better. Please continue to pray for his healing.

Update from Karen Hunt

Please continue to pray for Gerald. We are still trying to get his knee replaced. Going on 5 years. He is now having his heart worked on. He had an angioplasty done where they found 2 arteries blocked. One was 90% blocked and the other was 98% blocked. They fixed the 90% blocked one and went in on Jan. 28th to repair the other one. He had that one "roto rootered," like a plumber digging out of blocked pipes. Pray for us to have travel mercy. We will be in San Antionio at the VA Med Center. Kent is doing well have he had a bone graft done about 5 weeks ago. We are enjoying watching his kids play basketball. Next week he goes to the doctor, where they will work on getting him to bend his knee. He hasn't been able to do that since his surgery. Norma, my sister had shoulder surgery in Oct and is now in rehab for that. Thanks so much for your prayers.

Prayer for strength and healing

John had back surgery on December 23rd and I chose to not mention it much because we thought it was going to be in and out with no problems. However, I am reaching out to ask for prayer from our church family for his recovery. He is not bouncing back like always in the past. He has had a high fever for 5 days off and on and has no appetite nor energy at all. Right now we do not know why. He just honestly does not feel good. We feel, like maybe the two back surgeries were too close together and he over did a lot of activity before this last surgery and he is having difficulty recovering. Our family would like to please ask you to lift him in prayer for strength and healing. God Bless you all. We know things could be much worse, but I sure want to see that smile and energetic person again.

I worked for a wonderful Christian man in Louisiana who is now laying in M.D. Anderson hospital in Houston. I am requesting prayer for God's will. This man is strong, but when I talked to him today on the phone he sounded weak. I ask him if I could put him on our prayer list and he said please do. So here is the request, he has the cancer of the lungs from breathing asbestos it starts with an M but I can't spell it. It has spread from his lungs to the rest of his body they are taking out organs that I thought you had to have to live. So for Joe 14 please pray for God's Will to be done. May God Bless.

Please be in prayer for Rhonda Stafford and her family. Rhonda’s mother, Floydean Shook, had surgery last Thursday morning to remove a tumor from her colon the size of a football. Floydean came through the surgery and recovery very well; however, when the doctors tried to remove the ventilator she went into cardiac arrest. They have revived her and have her in a paralyzed state until tomorrow when they try to take her off the ventilator again. Please pray for my wife Juana, she is having so much trouble with her knees, she is in constant pain. She is supposed to see the doctor soon, but I do not know when. But if you would just pray that she could get some relief until she can have surgery I would appreciate it and that we will find a doctor that will do the surgery. Joann Gift, a counselor at the high school, fell several weeks ago and injured her leg and her shoulder. She is to have shoulder surgery today (December 9) in Amarillo. Gerald's total knee has been postponed. He failed the Thallium Stress Test last Wednesday! His Cardiologist saw something he didn't like. He called this afternoon with the following news. Leave in the morning for San Antonio VA. We have to be there around 1 PM @ admissions. The angiogram will be the next day...we think, after talking with Admissions in San Antonio. We aren't sure of anything else on the agenda. We'll see when we get there! We plan to have a good Thanksgiving where ever we are! (The plan was to eat with Kent & family.) Hopefully we will be back for that. Please pray for our travel safety and the procedure. Hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving! Don't eat too much Turkey! May God Bless You.
